Heavy Trucks Christchurch, Penske Commercial Vehicles Auckland and Penske Commercial Vehicles Mount Maunganui scored first, third and fifth respectively for the Asia-Pacific region in MAN‘s global Service Quality Awards for 2016/17.

The global contest seeks to find the best workshops in the MAN service network, and participants are afforded the chance to demonstrate their customer service skills and technical expertise across different rounds.

Each team enrolled in the competition comprises four members across various service departments such as warehouse, spare parts, customer service, reception, invoicing, aftersales, service contracts, warranty, workshop, diagnosis and electrics.

“It‘s wonderful to see three of our dealers in the top five places for Asia-Pacific,” said John Keenan, general manager, Penske Commercial Vehicles New Zealand.

“Particularly Heavy Trucks Christchurch, which has been awarded the best MAN workshop in Asia-Pacific three years in a row. All our dealers adhere to the highest standards of customer service and technical expertise, however it‘s very rewarding to receive this recognition from MAN in Germany.”

Keenan said 2016 was a great year for Penske Commercial Vehicles New Zealand and they were looking to build upon that for 2017.

“In 2016, Penske Commercial Vehicles secured MAN‘s return to number one in the 10,000kg plus bus and coach market segment in New Zealand. And when combining MAN trucks sold in the 10,000kg plus market with the bus and coach market, MAN placed first in the premium market, and third in the total market. The combination of premium quality MAN products and dealers who provide excellent customer service and technical expertise gives our customers an overall superior experience.”

The ‘mystery call‘ stage of the Service Quality Awards is currently underway, and the contest‘s finale will be held in Germany in June.
