Hall’s Group has announced a multi-million-dollar investment in a new transport cross-dock and storage facility in Horotiu, Waikato.

The move follows the group’s new Longburn Transport site, which, alongside Hall’s Storage and Manawatū Inland Port, created a logistics hub servicing the Lower North Island.

The new location is in the same business park and adjacent to a couple of other large industry players, namely AFFCO and Open Country Dairy.

“More importantly, this location is part of New Zealand’s ‘golden triangle’, a major engine of our economy; servicing around 42% of the nation’s freight and over 45% of its population,” said Gareth McFarlane, CEO, Hall’s Group.

“This region is characterised by strong transport and communication infrastructure, including port facilities and road networks, increasing Hall’s national distribution network,” he said.

“This investment, alongside new trucks and trailers, signals our commitment to ensuring Hall’s is the first choice in cold chain solutions in New Zealand.”

The build will take place over two stages – transport facility (Phase 1) and storage facility (Phase 2).
