The NZ Trucking Association‘s Safety MAN will be in Wellington for four days this month.
The impressive truck will be on the Waterfront outside the TSB Arena on Tuesday 14 and Wednesday 15 August, and then will be parked at the Beehive on Thursday 16 and Friday 17.
NZ Trucking Association executive officer Carol McGeady says this is a great opportunity for people who have not seen the Safety MAN in action to pop along and have a look.
“We have a huge number of MPs who have registered to attend. The Safety MAN has such a presence, as it‘s an amazing piece of equipment.”
She said the visit will raise awareness about how to share the road safely with big trucks and will also showcase the professionalism of the industry.
“This is only possible because of the NZ Trucking Association staff and the generous support of the industry sponsors. We need to unlock further funding so that the Safety MAN can become a permanent road show and visit parts of New Zealand that have a high truck crash rate, and communities that have been swamped with heavy vehicles due to a road closure.”
