Brought together by National Road Carriers and NZ Trucking Association, the 2022 Trucking Industry Summit is a one-day event that will focus on issues affecting the supply chain.

It will bring government, stakeholders, and operators together to discuss the issues in an open forum style at Te Pae Christchurch Convention centre on Saturday 30 July from 9am-5pm.

Government, stakeholders, and presenters will be briefed on the subjects that the associations want covered. Open floor discussions will take place throughout the day, which will ensure that the audience has a voice.

“The industry has some major challenges. Driver shortage, poor road conditions and RUC reviews are just to name a few that need discussion right now,” said Dave Boyce, chief executive at NZ Trucking Association.

“I am sure there will be some robust discussions throughout the day and this summit format is a perfect way to include the whole industry.”, said James Smith, COO at National Road Carriers, added, “Transport kept the supply chain moving through the pandemic and now as the economy grows, we need to make sure our voices are heard so that we shape the future together collaboratively.

“After all, our associations together represent the bulk of the supply chain,” he said.
