Truckers’ Health is changing – let’s grab a bite!
Truckers’ Health is a long-standing item of the magazine, with health and wellness guru Laura Hulley bringing us general health, exercise and wellbeing advice in each issue for over a decade. Now, it’s time for a shake-up!
Don’t worry; Laura’s not going anywhere – she’ll still feature four times a year with seasonal health and wellbeing advice and easy-to follow exercise regimes. What we want to do the rest of the time is focus on what goes in – because, as we know, what we consume is just as important as the physical activity we do, maybe even more so given the constraints of the truck-driving profession.
Servos and fast-food chains … we’re not interested in those. At a time when they’re all but too convenient, we want to find the best truck-friendly food outlets in New Zealand and present them to you as a recommended alternative for some good food on the go.
Of course, we’re not talking plant-based dietary-fad super-food that few people in this industry will realistically consider eating. We just want wholesome, nutritious food that’s not going to break the bank. And we want your suggestions – let your fellow truckies know where you like to stop, and we’ll do a little profile on it.
It could be a good old-fashioned mum-and-dad diner, a country pub, a high-quality bakery, or a convenient café … as long as they serve the kind of food we’re after and there’s somewhere for trucks to park – and maybe a good loo – it’s in!
We’ll kick off with our first stop next issue, but in the meantime, you can send your suggestions to editor@nztrucking.co.nz or drop us a message on any of our socials.
Bon appetit!
