NZ Trucking Association CEO David Boyce has been awarded the ‘Most meritorious published article in New Zealand publication 2016‘ at the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport NZ‘s annual awards.

The institute said writing articles about subjects that people want to read about was a skill that Boyce had mastered, and that his background in the transport industry had equipped him to connect with the audience and write meaningful articles.

Feedback is received each month from his regular articles, and one piece of feedback from a truck driver who phoned the association after an article about driver fatigue stands out. The driver phoned to thank Boyce because he believed that he had saved his life. After reading the article the driver recognised several symptoms‘ and immediately consulted a doctor. He was treated for sleep apnoea and high blood pressure.

The institute said Boyce‘s articles were a genuine reflection of his caring nature and his desire to write articles that gave worthwhile information and advice.

“I was humbled to accept the award from my industry peers. I enjoy using my experience in the industry to help others” said Boyce.
