IVECO fastest growing brand in New Zealand with record sales in 2016

Iveco Trucks New Zealand is enjoying its best year ever in New Zealand history, and this is only the beginning, said general manager Ian Walker.

September registrations released by the MIA saw Iveco commercial vehicles up a staggering 400% month-on- month compared with 2015. In the first nine months of 2016 Iveco retailed 67% more vans and trucks than in the same period last year, making it the fastest growing brand in the country.

“The results for the brand have been very encouraging, and show that we are giving customers what they want,” said Walker. “It has been a great team effort and this has meant expansion in many ways, including new jobs. In the past 18 months Iveco has focused its product offering to be exactly what the Kiwi van and truck buyer is looking for. We are renewing our entire product offering with first-class vehicles and our new ranges are winning many prestigious awards, like the Daily‘s International Van of the Year 2015 title and the Eurocargo‘s Truck of the Year 2016.”

Walker said the recognition was testament to Iveco‘s commitment to quality.

“Our European and Australian stables offer far more products than what traditionally has been offered in New Zealand. The new addition to our line-up is the fabulous Trakker 6×4 bulk cartage truck that we will launch in the next few weeks and proudly display at The Expo 2017 in Hamilton.”

In the same time period Iveco launched the award-winning New Daily to the 3.5T GVM market. It has expanded and strengthened its dealer network to be closer to the customer and raise the level of sales and service support. It has also introduced several new packages, such as free servicing on Daily, competitive repair and maintenance programmes on all trucks, Iveco Assist Roadside assistance, and finance packages. Iveco has also expanded its sales force and will shortly be announcing a multi-million dollar investment into a new location in Auckland.

“We now have good established dealers that want to represent us as service and parts dealers and we will shortly be rolling our phase two of our dealer network programme, including brand signage around the country. Iveco Trucks New Zealand is here for the long haul (excuse the pun) and operators will be seeing a lot more of our vehicles on our roads, that‘s for sure”.
