This year‘s Road Transport Forum conference will consider the dual issues of innovation and change and what the future holds for the road transport industry in New Zealand.

“Delegates will have a unique opportunity to engage with the experts, innovators and regulators at the forefront of our industry‘s future,” said Road Transport Forum chief executive Ken Shirley.

Tesla co-founder and founder of Wrightspeed, Ian Wright, headlines the line-up of speakers, which also includes economist Bernard Hickey, industry legal expert Ed Cox, and rollover prevention guru Jeff Fleury.

A networking BBQ, special conference breakfast with comic Urzila Carlson, a variety of sponsor stands and truck and equipment displays add to the range of events available to delegates.

The final of the 2016 New Zealand Truck Driving Championship will also be held concurrently with the second day of the conference and provide an opportunity to watch some of New Zealand‘s top truck drivers display their skills. Prizes, including the $10,000 prize for the overall New Zealand Truck Driving Champion, will be presented as part of the Industry Awards Dinner, hosted by 7 Days presenter Jeremy Corbett.

“The gala awards dinner showcases excellence and achievement in our industry and will feature awards for outstanding contributions to industry innovation, training and health and safety, as well as the Road Transport Hero Award and the Supreme Contribution to Road Transport,” said Shirley The conference will be held at Baypark in Tauranga on 27 and 28 October.
