Auckland Freightliner dealership Trucks and Trailers recently got a taste of the high-octane world of Supercars when race winning driver Tim Slade popped in for a visit.

The Freightliner Racing driver, who has won two races so far this year in his black and Red Holden Commodore, took time out of his hectic schedule to visit the team that sells and services Freightliner trucks.

Brad Jones Racing chief, Brad Jones, who runs the Freightliner Racing team, was also on hand to give the workers a real taste of what it takes to run a successful Supercars team and challenge outfits with much bigger budgets.

BJR is the only Supercar team not based in a metropolitan centre and instead runs a world class operation out of Albury, a modestly-sized town that sits on the New South Wales side of the border with Victoria. Its distance from the major Australian cities is no issue because BJR squad runs a fleet of three gleaming Freightliner Argosy transporters that eat up the miles between events.

New Zealand fans will be able to see Slade and the fantastic Freightliner racing car in action at the ITM Auckland SuperSprint round, which will be held on November 4 to 6 at Pukekohe Park Raceway.
