This feature is dedicated to our own John Murphy. One of the goals he set last year was to be here for the test of Bevan and Tania‘s T900 Legend. Murph loved all the tests he did but log truck tests had a special place in his heart. One of the ones he always talked about was the Satherley T659 with Lance Wichman, and the trip into Thunder Mountain on the Napier-Taupo Road. When Bevan rang and told John the Legend was coming he vowed to be here on the day. Sadly, we know that never happened. In an interesting twist the date we scheduled to spend with Shane and the truck was pulled forward a week to 6 April in order to synchronise with good weather.
That was six months to the day since Murph‘s death. The weather was beautiful all day. Thanks Murph – Legend!
