Detour for heavy vehicles on SH30-Sala Street from Monday 2 November

The left-turn slip lane from Te Ngae Road into Sala Street will be closed from Monday 2 November until approximately Friday 4 December as part of the Eastern Corridor Stage One works on SH30/Te Ngae Road.

Left turn access at the intersection will be restricted to light vehicles only during this time.

Heavy vehicles will need to use the approved detour via SH30A/SH5. The detour route will add approximately 7 to 10 minutes to a journey.

The closure will allow contractors to upgrade the existing slip lane and complete necessary work for the overall intersection upgrade.

Contractors continue to work on the new city-bound slip lane on Sala Street at the intersection. Northbound traffic on Sala Street is down to one lane.

The intersection upgrade is expected to be complete before Christmas.
