On behalf of the road transport industry, the Road Transport Forum, along with a number of other transport-related organisations, has organised a one-day political summit in the lead up to this year‘s election.

The Election 2017 Transport Summit will look at the role of government in transport. It will be held in the Amokura Gallery at Te Papa in Wellington on Tuesday 22 August.

A panel discussion featuring spokespeople from the major political parties will examine the issues of resilience and vulnerability, technology and innovation, and sustainability in transport. This is your chance to hear from and quiz the politicians on the issues that affect our industry in the lead up to polling day. There will be opportunities to ask questions from the floor and to chat with the politicians over lunch.

Those interested in attending can register at: www.transportsummit.org.nz. Registration is $115.00 per person and includes morning tea and lunch.

The summit is being organised on behalf of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, the Road Transport Forum NZ, NZ Shipping Federation, Bus and Coach Association, Motor Trade Association, Ports Association, Taxi Federation, NZ Heavy Haulage Association, Automobile Association, Motor Industry Association, Imported Motor Vehicle Association and the Maritime Union of NZ.
