The 2025 North Island Road Freight Seminar brought together more than 200 industry leaders, freight operators, and key stakeholders at the Napier War Memorial Centre from 10–11 October, to share insights, strengthen connections, and discuss the future of New Zealand’s road freight sector.

It was hugs all round at the Southern Field Days site at Waimumu for the running of the 16th annual Hug A Rig day. Beaming smiles on the faces of all involved said it all; not even a little shower of rain could dampen this parade.

The annual Gore Truck Show was once again held in conjunction with the Tussock Country Gore Gold Guitar Awards at King’s Birthday Weekend. This country music festival is one the biggest events to be held annually in the south and draws people from throughout New Zealand and Australia.

The display of trucks at Little Stanley Street, Southbank, is always a showcase of extraordinary machines. This year, even more so, with 28 of Australia’s best classic and custom trucks on display as part of the first-ever Silverback Show 'N' Shine National Championship.
