Mondiale Freight Services got even more bang for its buck after purchasing an 8×4 HD FS3147 Hi Top last year – the company‘s name was plucked from the draw to win a brand new Mercedes-Benz X-Class POWER ute.

Launched at last year‘s National Fieldays, FUSO‘s promotion gave anyone who bought and registered an 8×4 HD before the end of 2018 the chance to win.

Mondiale transport operations/fleet manager Tom Walker was invited to Keith Andrews Manukau, where he bought the HD, to receive the keys to his new X-Class.

Walker said he was surprised and delighted in equal measure to hear Mondiale had won the draw.

“When [salesman] Michael Orr from Keith Andrews called me up to tell me the good news, it was definitely a surprise.”

Walker, who has been in road transport nearly his entire working career and with Mondiale for 18 years, said he can‘t wait to drive the ute.

Walker was nominated by Mondiale‘s directors to keep the ute as his new work vehicle, in recognition of his service with the company and for his long relationship with FUSO and Keith Andrews Trucks.

Walker handles all of Mondiale‘s truck purchases, with the HD FS3147 Hi Top becoming the 21st FUSO in its fleet of 26.

“We are New Zealand‘s largest privately owned international freight-forwarding business and have a mix of FUSO trucks, not just big container trucks. We have a good number of Fighters and Canters in the mix also.

“We‘re progressively adding to our fleet, and FUSO will continue to be a big part of that, because they‘re comfortable, good-looking, and give us a good return on investment.”

Fuso NZ managing director Kurtis Andrews said he was pleased to give back a bit extra to FUSO‘s customers “especially the likes of Mondiale, who have shown loyalty to the brand over many years”.

“We know our trucks offer excellent value for money, but these promotions give us a chance to give back a bit more,” said Andrews. “We will continue to look at ways in which we can add further value.”
