Torque Automotive owner Kevin Mallon is looking forward to taking customer service to the next level by joining with FUSO.

Torque Automotive is Queenstown‘s first authorised FUSO parts and service dealership, providing greater convenience and reassurance for locally based FUSO customers.

Owner Kevin Mallon established the business in 2011 to better service the needs of a rapidly growing region, as well as to embrace the challenge of running his own workshop. Since then, Torque Automotive has quickly gained a reputation for friendly, efficient service with a local flavour. The company holds the service contract for Swissport‘s ground support equipment at Queenstown Airport, and also has expertise in working with a wide variety of machinery and equipment.

“We‘ve focused on building strong relationships with our customers; we know the local landscape and operators appreciate good service with a smile,” said Mallon. “We‘re now looking forward to taking our offering to the next level by joining with FUSO.”

Fuso NZ managing director Keith Andrews said that Mallon‘s focus on delivering better service for his customers aligns with Fuso NZ‘s own ethos.

“We want to be sure that when new dealerships come on board, they will carry the flag for excellent customer service – the level of service that won us an award this year from Daimler Trucks Asia,” said Andrews. “We have high standards and Torque Automotive has ticked every box.”

Andrews said Fuso NZ has been looking to expand its service network in areas that have been historically under-served and particularly ones that are experiencing strong growth, such as Queenstown.

“We are pleased that we can now better service the needs of customers in the lower central South Island, which is seeing increasing commercial traffic as a result of the local population growth.”

Mallon said he and his team are enjoying welcoming new customers into the workshop and being exposed to FUSO‘s state-of-the-art diagnostics and training programme.

“It‘s a new chapter for Queenstown and for the business, and it‘s one that we are relishing,” said Mallon. “Having access to top-level training is great for the team and obviously allows us to minimise time off the road for our customers, which is what we‘re here for.”
