Good on ya mate – Murray ‘Mo‘ Peake

It‘s all about sharing the passion and enthusiasm for the industry.

Carl Kirkbeck‘s interest in the transport industry goes back to pre-kindy he reckons, and over the years it has been influenced and honed by many stalwarts of the road, and right up at the top of that list is Murray ‘Mo‘ Peake.

Growing up in Waihi, Murray started out hanging out around the depots of local companies like Everitts, Edwards and Lockleys. With a background like this it was only natural that upon leaving school he was behind the wheel.

From a TM Bedford to a K model Kenworth – as well as many hours operating earthmoving equipment – there is not much Mo hasn‘t handled.

“The reason for nominating Mo for ‘Truckie of the Month‘ is his never-ending generosity for sharing his passion for the industry he has been so heavily involved in, with the likes of myself. In an era where every government department is trying to kill enthusiasm for the transport industry it is refreshing to know we have the likes of Mo out there teaching and preaching the ways of the road. And if you get the chance, I
highly recommend experiencing his master class in how to make a C16 and 18 RR sing!!” said Carl.
