The winners of the best trucks at the 100 Years of Kenworth event at Mystery Creek have been revealed.

The 1923-2023 milestone for the brand was delayed by one year due to uncertainty around pandemic restrictions, but that did not dull the enthusiasm of the hundreds who gathered to celebrate over Waitangi weekend.

KW100 as it came to be known, was made possible by the owners, drivers and supporters of the 756 trucks that arrived over two days.  According to event organisers Southpac Trucks, this number was lower than the 900+ that were registered for the event, many of which had too much work on to be able to attend.

The format was decided after in-depth research of Kenworth owners and drivers, whose feedback shaped the timeframes for the event.

“With a fantastic range of prizes and an incredibly high standard of truck presentation, the judging panel for KW100 certainly had their work cut out for them,” Southpac Trucks said.

The judging panel for KW100 was made up of the local Commercial Vehicle Safety Team and two overseas PACCAR employees.

Aaron Kitahara (USA), Phil Spencer (Australia), Constable Andrew Ansell, and Senior Sergeant Lex Soepnel made their way through the thousands of visitors to come up with a list of prize-winning trucks.

A further two prize winners were added at the request of the overseas judges: The Overseas Judges’ Show Favourites.
