The new Mack Anthem, a re-engineered, redesigned and reimagined interpretation of what today‘s highway truck should be. The Mack Anthem is available in several configurations, including Day Cab, 48-inch Flat Top sleeper, and an all-new 70-inch Stand-Up sleeper option.

Mack Trucks has introduced its new, next-generation highway hero in the US – the Mack Anthem, a truck designed to turn heads.

Mack has been building trucks for 117 years and Mack Trucks president Dennis Slagle rates the Anthem as one of the most significant new trucks in the company‘s history.

“The incredible result is a truck that‘s been built for our customers‘ business and designed for drivers, all while delivering the power and presence that only a Mack truck can deliver.”

With a bold grille and prominent Mack badge, the Anthem features an all-new exterior design with optimised aerodynamics for improved fuel efficiency. New driving and sleeping environments have an emphasis on increasing driver comfort and productivity, and the Anthem is available in several configurations, including a Day Cab, a 48-inch Flat Top Sleeper, and a 70-inch Stand-Up Sleeper.

Jonathan Randall, senior vice president, sales, Mack Trucks North America, says thousands of drivers were surveyed and their feedback was incorporated to deliver a functional, strong, efficient highway truck with a design unlike anything on the road today.

The Mack Anthem‘s new aerodynamic enhancements improve fuel efficiency by up to 3%. In addition to improved aerodynamics, the redesigned hood and bumper also feature three-piece construction for improved serviceability in the event of damage. A central latch release below the grille eliminates the need for drivers to walk from side to side to tilt the hood, and it also requires 50% less effort to raise than before.

All interior and exterior lighting on the Anthem is now exclusively LED, meaning brighter, longer-lasting lights that draw less energy. The change to LED is most noticeable on the Anthem‘s headlights, which are 66% brighter than today‘s bulb.

Gauges on the instrument panel have been positioned higher for better driver visibility, while HVAC controls and the Mack mDRIVE automated manual transmission (AMT) shift pad have been relocated closer to the driver‘s fingertips. The Anthem also features a new flat-bottom steering wheel, a Class 8 trucking industry first, providing improved dash visibility, as well as easier ingress and egress.

The Anthem is available with the 13-litre Mack MP8 engine producing up to 505 horsepower and 1,860lb/ft of torque depending on spec. The 11-litre Mack MP7 is also available as an option.

Mack‘s SuperEconodyne downspeeding packages are available with both Mack MP7 and MP8 engines. Mack‘s 12-speed mDRIVE AMT is standard on all Anthem models, and the reinforced and ruggedised mDRIVE HD AMTs are available as an option. Additionally, mDRIVE HD 13- and 14-speed variants are available, which add one or two low-ratio creeper gears.
