National Road Carriers welcomes new membership marketing coordinator

After graduating from Otago University at the end of last year, 23-year-old  Sean Clementson decided after to look for a job in Auckland, which resulted in him being appointed the National Road Carriers association membership marketing coordinator.

Sean has a double degree in marketing and sociology. Born and brought up in the Nelson suburb of Richmond, Sean attended Waimea College, where he spent the past three years in the school‘s first XV rugby team, as a midfield back.

A fixed term contract at Fleet Partners Auto Select yard in Christchurch after he finished university in 2017 was Sean‘s first real exposure to the wider automotive/transport industry, and that spurred him to look for a job that involved vehicles in some way.

Auckland is a new experience for Sean and he is quickly getting used to the congestion, commuting across the harbour bridge regularly for training with the Silverdale Premier Division rugby team that plays in North Harbour‘s top competition.

While he was in Dunedin he pulled on the Southern Club‘s colours, initially in the under 21 Colts grade and then for the Premier team in his final year at university.

In his spare time, Sean is looking forward to getting out on the Hauraki Gulf and trying warmer water fishing.

“I‘ve enjoyed fishing back home since I was a kid,” he said. “Whenever I get back home I try to go out with Dad at least once.”

Sean brings a fresh millennial perspective to the NRC office, and as the membership marketing coordinator is looking to gain and retain members and help provide them with the best support and advice.
