New Zealand pricing for the new Mercedes-Benz X-Class has been released, ranging from $53,300 for the 6-speed manual Pure variant up to $69,000 for the 7-speed auto Power variant. Pricing includes gst but excludes on-road costs.
Optional equipment packages include parking assistance (starting at $1400), heated seats and washer nozzles ($650), comfort and style packages ($2650 to $4150) and a wide range of other optional extras ranging from anti-theft protection and metallic paint to leather seat trim, depending on the variant.
The X-Class will be launched in April 2018 with 13 variants boasting two turbocharged 4-cylinder engines. The high-torque common-rail diesel drive system with a displacement of 2.3 litres is available with a choice of two power outputs – the X 220 d with single turbocharger generating 120kW and the bi-turbo X 250 d 140kW. The X 220 d is available with purely rear wheel drive or with engageable all-wheel drive. The X 250 d is offered with engageable all-wheel drive only.
The X-Class will be offered in three grades – the PURE variant for classic robust use, PROGRESSIVE for higher requirements in terms of quality feel and comfort, and POWER as the high-end variant for urban lifestyles.
