‘Rock Dog‘, the 2014 Mack Trident bulk tipper unit belonging Road Metals Co Ltd that featured as the New Zealand Trucking Top Truck for July 17, has taken out the honours for the overall Top Truck 2016-17. The truck was a convincing winner of the competition, run online via public vote.

Road Metals managing director Murray Francis said, “This is great news for us as we are very proud of our fleet and our operators.”
‘Rock Dog‘s‘ driver, Kane Scott, was equally rapt to hear the outcome of the competition. “I‘m extremely excited to have won the Top Truck award,” he said.

It‘s not the first time the company, renowned for their fleet of showpiece working Macks, has had one of their trucks celebrated at a national level. In the late 70s the company‘s R model Mack ‘Daddy Cool‘ was the country‘s first mass-produced truck poster featuring a local truck.

Full coverage of the presentation to Road Metals Co Ltd will feature in the November issue of New Zealand Trucking.
