Waikato District Council is proposing to change speeds on more than 300 roads across the district. This includes amending some residential road speeds, reducing speeds around urban and rural schools for safety, and increasing some road speeds for efficiency.

Submissions on proposed speed limit changes within the Waikato District will close this Sunday, 23 January.

The proposed changes also include extending the 40kph speed limit in the Te Kowhai area for pedestrian safety, aligning speed limits on roads shared with the Auckland boundary and reducing the speed limit to 60kph on Tamahere drive between the country club and the SH1 Interchange, and Tauwhare road between woodcock road and the SH1 interchange.

There is an INTERACTIVE MAP showing the changes HERE.
