Hino is bringing their highly anticipated new 300 Series 4x4s to New Zealand roads, paddocks and trails. Built for durability with more power and torque than competitors‘ trucks, the 4×4 was custom designed to conquer Australasia‘s unique terrains.

“The new Hino 4×4 is a perfect fit for local Kiwi businesses, whatever industry they‘re in,” said Hino general manager Darren Salt. “It can handle our tricky outdoor terrain for farming and forestry industries, but with a 7,500kg operating weight and tight turning circle it’s also ideal for city-based work.”

Since it was released in Australia last November, the 4×4 has surpassed sales estimates and received incredibly positive feedback. Drive.com.au told readers “it should be top of your list” for vehicles in its class, and fullyloaded.com.au called it a “seriously adept off-roader”.

One standout feature is the Hino 4×4‘s 6-speed Overdrive transmission, which has one of the widest gear ratios in the market, with a crawl gear ratio of 2.2:1. “The gearings range is important to our customers – it makes tackling steep hills a lot easier, and gives them more control and fuel efficiency.”

Other standard features include all-wheel disc brakes, a reversing camera, Navigation for Trucks‘ GPS system, cruise control, and a 170L fuel capacity, the size of which reduces the risk for customers heading off-road for long periods.

“The Hino 4×4 is a great way for us to cater specifically for the New Zealand market.  We want to ensure that our locals have the best possible experience in our trucks no matter what they‘re doing or where they‘re going. We‘ve heard all the fantastic feedback across the ditch, and can‘t wait to hear what New Zealand drivers think of the 4×4.”
