Anthony Wood was topping up his tank with AdBlue in Palmerston North when Faye Lougher caught up with him.
Driving a 2016 Volvo FH540 filled with finished milk products for DTL Transport, Anthony had travelled from Rotorua and his destination that day was Longburn.
Anthony has been driving for about 20 years, the last nine or so on line haul trucks and trailers. He says the best part of his job is being on the open road.
“And collecting EROAD stats!”
Anthony can‘t really see any problems in the industry today, other than the prospect of driverless trucks.
“It‘s good now, especially with EROAD coming on board most of the trucks. The speed has dropped and everyone can pass a truck safely.”
Without a copy of the list of light-hearted vexing questions to refer to, Anthony happily gave answers for several Faye could remember. He did admit to being conflicted over the first, saying he liked both rugby and soccer, but if pushed he‘d choose rugby.
He also enjoyed a hamburger and chips, particularly the old-style burger with a steak inside the bun.
