UD Australia has released new 8×4 Quon models that also feature a number of enhancements throughout. The 8x4s are available in 8- and 11-litre variants, powered by the GH8 and GH11 engines, in the CG 30 360 (263kW/1428Nm), CG 32 390 (287kW/1750Nm) and CG 32 420 (309kW/1900Nm).

The engines comply with stringent pPNLT Emissions Standards that exceed Euro 6 emission requirements. UD‘s ESCOT-VI automated manual transmission is standard, while the 8-litre Quon is also available with the Allison 3200 automatic transmission.

The 8×4 Quon is made for the market Down Under, says UD. It offers a high-tensile, single skin steel chassis frame with greater tensile strength and low tare for increased payload. UD has optimised the frame structure, and direct body mount solutions enable a lower centre of gravity for agitator spec.

The weight of all models has been reduced to the benefit of increased carrying capacities and improving load handling and suspension. The load-sharing twin-steer front axle features parabolic springs and a 13-tonne capacity on all models. Rear suspension is by way of 8-bag air or leaf springs. Wheelbase options range from 4500 to 5700mm.

Safety features are a large part of the Quon offering and the 8×4 offers all-round disk brakes, electronic stability control, traffic eye brake, lane departure warning, brake blending, and optional driver alert system. The cabin has been completely redesigned for greater driver comfort.

The Quon offers comprehensive aftersales services, such as genuine service, genuine parts, UD-TRUST service agreements, and UD telematics. The aim is to ‘provide an unprecedented level of uptime, as well as the comfort of predictable costs and the peace of mind that your UD is receiving the best parts and service available‘.
